"Growing up as a dark skin girl in London, I can honestly say that I lacked confidence and I did not think I was good-looking. What a dangerous way for a child to think. Now we live in a time where black girls and women are celebrated in so many ways. From the diversity of coils in our hair to the many sensational shades of brown skin. My intention is create artwork that celebrates girls and women who look like me. The onlooker would relate. They would know their beauty, feel empowered and embody confidence."
